These ten Beginner Acting Classes focus on the Method Acting Style. Method Acting is a technique of acting in which an actor aspires to complete emotional identification with a part. Method Acting is based on the system evolved by

Classes will concentrate on discovering the character's inner experiential reality, how it is shape by outside sociological forces and how these translate into the character's place in the play and the "through line" journey. 

Russian Actor Konstantin Stanislavsky and refined in the United States by three teachers: Lee Strasberg (the psychological aspects), Stella Adler (the sociological aspects), and Sanford Meisner (the behavioral aspects).

These classes will not focus on the theoretical, rather the active exploration of character. Developing character history, movement, breathing, intention and motivation will be explored culminating in a performance of monologues by the students.

Space is limited to 10 students aged 18 years and older.

Thursday nights: January 17th to March 21st, 2019 from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm  in The Salon at McCloskey's Hotel, Chesterville , Ontario.

Who is the teacher?

Amanda Burger is a graduate of Concordia University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Major in Theatre. She has worked in theatre for over fifteen years in Montreal and Ontario.
